Bay City’s Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an open house next Tuesday at 7 p.m. during National Fire Prevention Week. The event will feature hands-on demonstrations, including how to use a fire extinguisher and a live car fire demonstration. Families can tour fire trucks, use the department’s hose, and enjoy free snacks.The event highlights the department’s readiness and welcomes volunteers, with applications available. For kids unable to attend, Firefighter Libbie Cruz will visit local schools and daycares, bringing fire safety lessons to Cherry Elementary and other locations throughout the week.
