An El Campo man, Jeremy Bernard Holloway, is facing up to 99 years in prison after being indicted for the murder of 23-year-old Darrell Walter Jackson. Jackson, the son of Holloway’s girlfriend, was shot in the back on June 26 outside Holloway’s former home at Lundy and Pierce. Authorities say the two had argued, and Jackson was shot as he tried to leave. Holloway was arrested that night in Columbus. He remains in Wharton County Jail, also facing a probation violation for a prior drug conviction. Holloway will not face the death penalty.
