El Campo ISD Bond Discussion

El Campo ISD’s community advisory committee took steps toward consolidating elementary schools and upgrading the high school with an $81-83 million dollar facilities bond. A tour of Hutchins Elementary revealed fire safety and infrastructure issues, leading the committee to prioritize renovations. The majority supported consolidating Myatt Elementary with other schools and focused on high school upgrades. The committee discussed budget concerns, with some favoring a focus on the high school while avoiding a tax increase. The group will present its findings to the school board on Wednesday.
