Wharton County deputies arrested Kendrick Jarmol Bluntson, 41, of Eagle Lake, for allegedly attacking an elderly man with a mop handle on FM 2614 in the Elm Grove area. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Friday. After breaking the handle on the victim’s shoulder and threatening him with the broken shards, Bluntson fled, but deputies tracked him down fast. He was arrested without incident and taken to Wharton County Jail, where he’s being held on a $50,000 bond. If convicted, Bluntson faces 2 to 20 years in prison for aggravated assault.
