Matagorda County schools and nearby communities are rallying to support the families of two teenage girls killed in a Van Vleck car crash. A prayer vigil was held Monday for Van Vleck High School senior Haleigh Matchett, 17, and recent graduate Kylie Folmar, 19. The crash, involving a speeding BMW and a Cadillac, shut down Highway 35 for 12 hours. The BMW driver fled but was later found at a hospital. The community is wearing red and pink to honor the girls, with emotional support available at Van Vleck ISD.
