The sidewalk renovation project in downtown Wharton is set to begin on schedule despite recent storms. City Secretary Paula Favors confirmed that teams are preparing equipment, with construction under way. Public Works Director Roderick Semien mentioned that although the weather has been unpredictable, they are ready to proceed. The over $355 thousand dollar project, funded by a grant and local contributions, will cover 3.5 miles and is expected to be completed in 70 days. Staff Concrete Construction from Victoria has been awarded the project.
