Travis James Mullis, a Brazoria County man, will be executed in Texas on Tuesday for the ’08 murder of his infant son, Alijah. Mullis, who was convicted in ’11, had confessed to the crime after fleeing to Philadelphia. His final appeal was denied in ’23, and no new appeals were filed. Mullis will become the fourth person executed in Texas this year. His case highlighted his troubled past, including a history of mental illness and abuse. Two more executions are scheduled in Texas this year.
