Bay City will commemorate the victims of the September 11th, ’01, terror attacks on today. Local police, firefighters, city officials, and veterans will gather at First Presbyterian Church for a bell-ringing ceremony at 7:30 a.m. Pastor Charley Shurtz will lead the event, ringing the bell 2,977 times to honor each life lost. Despite potential rain, the community is encouraged to attend. Later, Bay City first responders will tackle a 110-flight stair climb at Fit for Life gym at 9:30 a.m., symbolizing the heroic efforts of 9/11 first responders.
