The City of Wharton has approved a measure to stay covered for cyber liability and data breaches, following recommendations from city staff and the finance committee. Assistant City Manager Paula Favors emphasized the importance of this coverage due to the rising risk of cyber attacks. The new plan will cost $1,250 for the upcoming fiscal year. The council also approved new agreements for employee benefits, saving 12.6% on health insurance costs. Both measures passed unanimously.
