Rudy Machala, a respected figure in law enforcement for nearly half a century, will be honored at his funeral this Friday in El Campo. After serving as a dedicated Texas DPS Trooper for 20 years, Machala led Wharton County as sheriff from 1980 to 1992. His legacy, marked by commitment and service, will be commemorated at St. Philip’s Catholic Church. He was 86 years old.
