Matthew Tilley got a big promotion to Patrol Captain in Matagorda County, taking over for Robert “Scooter” Hearn. Hearn, with 30 years under his belt, is moving on to a new gig at the Palacios Police Department. He’s leaving because of the shake-up from the upcoming sheriff’s election. Tilley’s honored but knows he’s got some big shoes to fill. Hearn’s confident Tilley’s the man for the job.
