Residents in Boling ISD are getting a new elementary school, but it comes with a cost – higher property taxes. A vote on May 4th decided on a roughly 50 cent increase to the district’s tax rate. The vote was close, with 285 in favor and 239 against. The bond, totaling $40.5 million, aims to improve campuses, especially replacing the old Newgulf Elementary, which was built in 1929.
