Jerry Adelman, a retired community volunteer from Palacios, has been appointed as the president of the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority by Governor Greg Abbott. The authority manages stream and river water storage, preservation, and distribution in Jackson County. Adelman, who served during the Vietnam War, was awarded the Bronze Star and Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters.
