In Matagorda County, Karen Rena Rooks, 49, was found guilty of manslaughter for a deadly crash that happened over five years ago. She got seven years in prison for the wreck that took Rebecca Harlow’s life in December 2018. Rooks tried to pass another driver in thick fog, driving 70 miles per hour on a wet road, leading to the collision.
