El Campo Mayor Chris Barbee stepped down from his position on Monday, but he’s not done serving his community. He’ll still be substitute teaching and staying active in the Rotary Club, where he’s had perfect attendance for 49 years. He’s been involved in politics for six years, but his commitment to El Campo started long ago when his family moved here in 1968.
