The Bay City Fire Marshal’s Office shared on social about Arson Awareness Week running until May 11. This year focuses on “Protecting Houses of Worship: Fire as a Weapon”. They aim to teach folks about arson risks, especially in places of worship, and how to prevent it. On average, from 2020 to 2022, about 1,300 fires were reported annually in U.S. places of worship, costing roughly $74.6 million each year.
