In Bay City, a man’s backyard got scorched when his barbecue heat spread to tall grass at 1714 Spruce St. The homeowner tried to put it out with a water hose. Thankfully, the fire only damaged the grass, thanks to quick response from the Fire and Police departments. Fire Marshal Dan Shook emphasized the importance of keeping lawns trimmed to prevent such incidents, as per Bay City ordinance.
