A 48-year-old man from El Campo was fatally hit by an SUV while cycling on Sandy Corner Road. The police are investigating the incident, but speed wasn’t a factor and the 70-year-old woman driving the SUV wasn’t under the influence. The man’s identity hasn’t been released yet. No charges have been filed against the driver. The local fire department responded to the scene. An autopsy has been ordered.
