El Campo City Council is backing a proposed senior housing project. If it gets state funding, the city will waive a $250 building permit fee for the $9 million development. The project, aimed at seniors aged 55 and up, includes 28 units, a clubhouse, a community room, and a fitness center. It’s still in the planning stages and will be located near El Campo Retirement Apartments.
