Brandon James, now 19, is going on trial next week for a 2021 robbery in El Campo, where he and four others allegedly ambushed and killed Shane Singleton. Singleton was there to buy something he found on social media but was shot instead. James, who was 16 at the time, was later deemed unfit for trial but was certified as competent last year.
