Victoria County commissioners have agreed to tear down the old county jail, despite some believing it’s a historical landmark. Built in the 1940s, it’s served its time, but now needs a costly renovation. Commissioners say the $6 million estimate to fix it is too much. Yet, other historic buildings, like the old fire station, will be renovated.
