In Bay City, Anthony Perry, 50, received two life sentences after District Attorney Steven Reis argued he shouldn’t have the freedom to walk among the citizens of Matagorda County. The jury, composed of 7 women and 5 men, agreed. Perry’s ex-wife, Onatha Banks, testified that Perry had threatened her with a 9mm handgun on October 25, 2020. Despite being a felon on parole, Perry illegally possessed the firearm.
