VFW Post 2438 celebrated the winners of Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen, and Teacher of the Year with a BBQ dinner. High school students recorded 5-minute essays on democracy for Voice of Democracy. Middle school students wrote 300-400 word essays on patriotism for Patriot’s Pen. Teachers were recognized for teaching patriotism. The winners were Matt Stovall, Samuel Huesca Grant Friesenhahn, Kinsley Marroquin and Barrett Botbyl.
