Victoria County commissioners gave the green light for a new chief public defender role at the Crossroads Regional Public Defender Office. The court unanimously approved the position, and once filled, the chief public defender can start hiring for over 25 roles in the office. The county secured a $3 million grant earlier this year to establish the public defender’s office.
