The Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) for Victoria and surrounding counties updated the county court on their progress. Co-chair Beth Svetlik shared that they’ve established a structure, bylaws, and officers over the past two years, but faced challenges with attendance and funding. A 2021 Senate Bill required all counties to have a SART, but didn’t provide funding. This, along with low participation, has hindered the group’s work.
