Victoria County is planning to build a 15,000 square-foot safe room for first responders during emergencies, thanks to a grant from the Texas Division of Emergency Management. The room will hold about 650 people and will be located at the Victoria Regional Airport. The total cost of the project is around $10 million, with the grant covering 90% of the construction and design costs.
