A discarded cigarette caused a small fire in Duncan Park’s children’s play area last week. Bay City Parks and Recreation employees found the fire and called the fire department and police. They quickly put out the fire. Fire Marshal Dan Shook reminded people to fully extinguish smoking materials. In other news, there were two kitchen fires last week. Fortunately, no one was injured in these incidents.
