Victoria City Council members discussed the results of a study conducted by The Sports Facilities Companies of Clearwater, Florida. The study recommends adding artificial turf and improving recreational fields at Riverside Park to make the city more attractive for sports tourism, bring more money into the local economy, and improve the overall experience for the community. The study recommended adding two additional multipurpose fields that could serve both diamond and other sports, as well as redeveloping the existing soccer fields for artificial turf. Investment in new fields is estimated to cost $17.7 million overall, with the expected completion time of two to three years.
