The Matagorda County Museum’s annual fundraiser, Gourmet Guys, was a huge success with its “An Evening in Charleston, South Carolina” theme. The event saw a record number of cooks and attendees, serving up dishes like she crab soup, whole roasted pig, shrimp and grits, and fried green tomatoes. The funds raised are earmarked for the museum’s operating expenses and renovations on the third floor. Participants praised the event as a family favorite and a great way to keep local history alive. The turnout was so large that additional seating had to be provided!
