Just weeks into his prison term, an El Campo fentanyl dealer, Lawrence Herald Jr., has already appealed his life sentence, seeking a fresh trial. Last August, a Wharton County jury convicted the 77-year-old of a first-degree felony, Delivery of a Controlled Substance. However, District Attorney Dawn Allison believes Herald’s chances of winning the appeal are slim.
