Utility Rate and Fee Changes

Starting in November, El Campo utility rates will rise due to a new trash service contract with Texas Disposal Systems. This five-year agreement allows for yearly fee increases, and this year, they’re raising prices, impacting residents and businesses. For the average homeowner with a single polycart, the garbage portion of their utility bill will increase by 76 cents to $26.15 monthly. Commercial customers will also see rate hikes. Additionally, the Transportation User Fee, which funds roadwork, will go up from $2 to $2.50 per month. On a positive note, the tax rate will drop, benefiting homeowners with a $40 annual decrease.
