Vision for the future

El Campo officials are seeking to update their vision for the town’s future. They aim to secure a $300,000 state grant from the Texas Government Land Office to fund this endeavor. The grant, known as the Community Development Block Grant, would necessitate the city to initially cover the costs for the next two years, with subsequent reimbursement. The last comprehensive plan was completed in 2017 and most of the measurable goals have been achieved. The city council unanimously approved Grant Works as the program administrator, pending grant approval.
