Shooter faces 20 years prison

A woman accused of a non-fatal shooting in Wharton is facing up to 20 years in prison. Tamya Myles, 22, was indicted by the Wharton County Grand Jury on two counts: aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. The incident occurred during a dispute in May, where she shot a family member in the upper chest. Thankfully, the man survived, but Myles fled. She’d already been convicted of a previous offense, making her possession of a firearm illegal on the day of the shooting.
