Scorching Heatwave

Officials in El Campo are warning about increasing dangers and damages due to the scorching heat. Outdoor burning is now illegal, and starting today a ban will be enforced in rural Wharton County. The extreme heat has led to pavement melting in El Campo, raising concerns about damage from heavy vehicles. Additionally, as moisture evaporates from the soil, water lines are expected to break soon. If you’re outside, stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and watch out for signs of heat stroke like dizziness and weakness.
