David Marcaurele, a seasoned law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience, was sworn in as the new police chief of El Campo on June 1. According to the El Campo Leader-News, Marcaurele has strong ties to the community, as he has lived in El Campo for his entire life. The El Campo City Council hired him in May to replace interim chief Terry Stanphill.
