Matagorda Regional Medical Center’s WIC program has received a $184.5 thousand dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The grant aims to implement a WIC Community Innovation and Outreach Project to enhance awareness, participation, and benefit redemption in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for WIC. Matagorda Regional Medical Center’s WIC was chosen through a rigorous grant process. The objective is to improve access to WIC for eligible individuals by utilizing automated referral systems, transportation support, and collaborative outreach efforts.
