Matagorda County inmates will soon have access to a video calling service. The county recently reached an agreement with the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office to implement this service, which has been in the works for over a year. The kiosks for video calls will be set up in each individual jail cell, offering various benefits. Families, friends, and attorneys will no longer have to travel for visitations, as they can connect through the video service. Inmates will also be able to use the system for sick calls and consult with a nurse.
