A 70-year-old man from Matagorda, David Belcik, drowned in the Colorado River after falling off a pier. The incident occurred last Thursday evening and was reported to the Matagorda County Sheriff’s deputies. Lieutenant James Orr stated that there is no suspicion of foul play, but the case is still being investigated. It is worth noting that this is the second accidental drowning in Matagorda County this year, as confirmed by Emergency Medical Services Director.
