On Tuesday, the Bay City Police Department had a promotional ceremony officiated by Chief Christella Rodriguez. Ruben Gutierrez Jr., who grew up in Missouri City, and played college basketball, was promoted. He comes from a law enforcement family, with his sister and brother-in-law both serving as HPD officers. Ruben joined the Bay City Police Department in 2018 and was promoted to Corporal in 2020. Currently, he serves as the department’s training coordinator and crime prevention officer. Congrats to Sergeant Gutierrez.
