Chuck Young has been promoted to Chief of the Victoria Police Department due to his extensive experience as deputy chief and his over 40 years in law enforcement. City Manager Jesús Garza commended Young’s unique perspective on the job and his decades of experience at the much larger Dallas Police Department. Young, who takes on the role May 15th, has helped the department beef up its technology and strategy to fight crime, introducing license plate reader technology to the town and taking measures to combat criminal activity.
