Experts who toured the inside of the Luther Hotel are “cautiously optimistic” that it can be saved, despite multiple code violations. Four plaintiffs’ representatives were denied permission to join the tour, but the Palacios Preservation Association and a former hotel manager did go inside. The hotel has been the subject of lawsuits from former employees and volunteers for unpaid wages, personal property still inside the building, and health issues caused by burst pipes during the 2021 freeze. Meanwhile, a restraining order preventing the hotel from being demolished remains in effect until June 22nd.
