El Campo is on the hunt for a new police chief, and they’ve narrowed the search down to four candidates. Ultimately, the City Council will choose the next chief from the recommended candidates. The city received a total of 17 applications from various sources, many of whom have extensive leadership experience in law enforcement. While they search for a new chief, the council has appointed retired Police Chief Terry Stanphill as a civilian administrator for the department. The council is expected to make their choice by May 22nd.
