On Saturday police were called to JP Davis Avenue in response to a 911 hangup after reporting a disturbance. Officers arrived at the scene and found what appeared to be blood. Despite searching the area, no victim or suspects were found. Dispatch alerted the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office who took over the scene while officers continued to search for a victim. The next day sheriff’s received a call about a deceased person near FM 2611 and County Road 275. Deputies found the deceased, who was later determined to be the victim from the JP Davis residence. The case is currently under investigation with the assistance from the Texas Rangers.
