Victoria Police say a woman named Theresa Barrientes, 68, passed away due to injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle on Friday. The incident occurred on North Delmar Drive, where police received a report of two individuals in the roadway, one pushing the other in a wheelchair. Both were wearing all black. Another call came in stating that both had been hit by a vehicle which had fled the scene. Upon arrival, officers found the two people with injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle later returned to the scene.
