A man from Wharton has been sent back to prison for helping to cover up a murder in 2009. Michael Moreno was given a four-year sentence, but he had already served 387 days in jail awaiting trial, so he won’t serve the full term. Moreno and another person helped Ramon Yanez Vega escape to Mexico after he allegedly killed a teacher in Wharton County. The teacher’s body was found in his car near Needville. Vega remains at large.
