Victoria is down to four finalists in its search for a new police chief. The city manager says they’ve attracted a great pool of candidates for the important and highly visible role. The candidates include a deputy chief from Victoria’s police department, the police chief in Alton, a police chief in Aransas Pass, and a law enforcement veteran who most recently served in a Las Vegas suburb. The Victoria police chief position became open when Roberto Arredondo Jr. left at the end of 2022. The Final Four will tour the area and meet with city officials and stakeholders this week.
