Three men pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank robbery by force or violence after robbing two banks in Brazoria and Wharton counties. They wore masks, brandished firearms, and held employees hostage. The fourth member of the crew died in a car crash during his attempt to flee from law enforcement. On Wednesday, Tony Wayne Mitchell received 144 months, Kevin McCoy received 48 months, and Mikell Phillips got 54 months of imprisonment. Mitchell also received 84 months for his firearms conviction. They will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.
