Get ready for the Wharton County Youth Fair happening earlier than usual, from March 23rd to April 1st. This year’s fair is dedicated to the memory of Clemente Pardo Jr., also known as “Junior”, who worked as a groundskeeper for the fair from 2012 until his passing from cancer in January. Meanwhile, the Bar-B-Que Cook-off kicks off on March 17th with seven teams already signed up, and more expected to compete. The winning brisket will represent Wharton County at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo next year.
