The trial for Fernando Acosta Jr. has been set for 9 AM November 13th. Acosta is accused of murdering Amanda Johnson, a single mother of two children. Human remains were found inside Johnson’s burned-out 2018 Ford Explorer by the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office. Acosta is charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. He is currently out on bond. The court held a status conference on Friday to ensure the case is moving forward.
