Severe drought conditions

The Lower Colorado River Authority has announced that due to severe drought conditions, Highland Lakes water will not be available for most of its agricultural customers in certain counties in Texas. This means that interruptible customers, who are primarily agricultural customers, will not have access to Highland Lakes water this year. The LCRA has to cut off water to these customers in order to ensure that the needs of cities, businesses, and industries are met. The drought conditions have also caused the combined storage in Lakes Buchanan and Travis to decline.
